摘要
Response functions of resonant circuits create ringing artefacts if theirinput changes rapidly. When physical limits of electromagnetic spectroscopiesare explored, this creates two types of problems. Firstly, simulation: thesystem must be propagated accurately through every response transient, this maybe computationally expensive. Secondly, optimal control optimisation:instrument response must be taken into account; it may be advantageous todesign pulses that are resilient to instrumental distortions. At the root ofboth problems is the popular piecewise-constant approximation for controlsequences; in magnetic resonance it has persisted since the earliest days. Inthis paper, we report an implementation and benchmarks for simulation andoptimal control routines that use recent Lie-group methods that simulate andoptimise control pulses that are piecewise-polynomial.
